Period.

The police made a choice too. They could have moved out of yge way and taken her tags and pay her a visit at home. 

Why is it an Americans first instinct to shoot a human being? I mean, I’ve seen guys with machetes being taken down in the UK using only their body shields. And no one hot hurt or died.

yes that is all she had to do is comply. But not complying doesn’t automatically mean you deserve to be shot dead. She was most likely afraid about the cop with his hand of his gun. She even asked them, “you going to shoot me?”

she hardly floored the car. The cop could have easily dodged the car as he did. 

Can you please provide evidence of your claim that she took off her tags.

        Other than perform a Starsky & Hutch type stunt -- rolling off the hood of the car, then shooting out the tires, what were the Police Officer at the front of the vehicles options once she decided to hit him to clear an escape route ?  
 
         The 2 biggest factors that would have resulted in that shooting being "avoided" were if she had simply followed the Cop's commands as she was being detained on suspicion of Retail Theft ---- or had the Cops followed HER commands  and not done their jobs...
