Ohio has executed 56 people in the modern death penalty era, placing it 8th overall in the number of executions in the United States. Most recently, Governor Dewine issued a reprieve for Keith Lamar, postponing the original November 16, 2023 execution date to January 13, 2027.

She'd had several run-ins with the Law previously --- most recently was a few days ago when she violated a Protection / No Contact Order her Grandmother had against her... It was the 2nd time she'd ignored the order, again deciding laws didn't apply to her, and that she'd just do as she damn well pleased...

Sean Walton, an attorney representing Young's family, said the video clearly shows that the Aug. 24 shooting of the 21-year-old woman was unjustified and he called for the officer to be fired and charged immediately. Walton also criticized police for not releasing the video footage for more than a week after the shooting.
“Ta’Kiya’s family is heartbroken," Walton said in an interview with The Associated Press. “The video did nothing but confirm their fears that Ta’Kiya was murdered unjustifiably ... and it was just heartbreaking for them to see Ta’Kiya having her life taken away under such ridiculous circumstances.”

There were two officers helping unlock a car, in the parking lot of a nice, white, clean, liberal, suburban college town where Officer Friendly still uses a slim Jim to unlock cars. There are college kids in town. Try steal **** from stores. The police there don’t shoot shoplifters—ever.
The shooter went off the rails.
Rational people are flabbergasted, amazed, shocked and revolted this could happen in America in 2023, in Suburbia.
Nothing I’ve seen in 60 years of daily news watching is so horrible as this about excessive force, if the officer deliberately shot that girl.
As secretive as the police are I assume that’s a rookie girl cop who should’ve never been hired, who panicked.
But if that’s an experienced veteran man who deliberately shot and killed that girl we should see the first cop ever to be death penalty eligible.

It is a tragedy Ashli Babbitt died, but she died in the middle of a riot inside the Capitol shot by a scared cop who had to feel like he was with Custer at the Little Big Horn.
