What do you suppose you would learn from this woman that you could take to a job interview or would make any material difference in anyone's life...?

While I believe your point is valid, I must point out that every change that was tried multiple times, failed every time...until it didn't.

Wrong again... I think that those who take out loans should repay them. Not a complex matter. If a student opts to take a course like what this lady would teach.. you do so at your own risk. If you decide to be a sociology major then I guess.. fine. Simply pay your own way and you can deal with the frustration of a job search in that field. I changed from forestry to economics for that exact reason. A bachelors in forestry was going to lead some interesting times while a graduate degree in Economics... not quite.

It has not and probably never will. Who knows.. maybe in 10k years, everybody will be made in test tubes or other science fiction-like rubbish. I had a professor somewhat like this. I thought sociology was an easy A and the time slot was convenient. I dropped it after the first day because the lady was just a bit too far out there.
