Yep.

The interest rates being artificially low fueled inflation.  People bought homes in the 70s and 80s and didn't feel entitled to these artificially low interest rates.  The interest rate has gone back to where it is supposed to be.

The interest rates have gone to the point that previous generations purchased homes. They didn't have a problem.

Energy, inflation, groceries, and everyday standard of living, etc...Why do you think in the old days it was possible for only one parent to work, own a home, and a car, and still make it just fine? The reason that our parents could afford to have one parent staying at home is because we had one car, never ate out, didn't go anywhere for vacation, didn't buy stores full of crap, and saved our money.  I remember my father took me to McDona!d's for my birthday.  He didn't have anything, and I had to choose between getting the pop or fries.  We didn't eat out any other time during the year.  A few times we went to stay with family for vacation, where the only expense was trainfare.

I'm not out of touch; I'm just smarter.

You are out of touch. There are two parents working because you can't afford a home with one income. They need two cars so both parents can work to afford the home that they cannot afford. College tuition is 3.5 times higher than inflation. Wages have not increased, but prices have.
