3rd largest Russian city with about 1.7 million population
Like Russia in general, clean, orderly, and well maintained with magnificent architecture
No tent cities, sidewalks lined with drug addled *** and trannies. No propaganda
to groom kids into genital mutilation, chaos, and confusion.

Siberia!!

Very impressive 👍

I’m an audio enthusiast and have a tube amplifier and tube preamp. I use some vintage Russian tubes that I am a big fan of made back in the 1960’s by a factory at the time located in Novosibirsk in the input and phase splitter positions in the amp. They sound sweet and are very durable and well made 👍

This place is home to a guy who makes the most powerful and ever lasting model airplane engines in the world.
Aleksandr Kolmikov of Cyclon engines.
His 1cc engine spins a 4 x 4 prop at 42,000 rpm ...which is a magic number because this means the piston is going up and down 700 times each second...!
Image
At this rpm with a 4x4 prop a small low drag model can get up to 150 mph

i tried to go to Khabarovsk, lady at russia tourist department said the people of that area have blocked all ugly Americans from entry.  living in usa, and seeing what the people of usa do to their cities, i can UNDERSTAND. usa is a temporary nation. being looted by a few. everything built in usa has a short life span. no thought of the future. grab and trash. then move down the road and grab and trash. look at chicago. government approves of grab and trash. and relocate in a safe area.

8 months of the year doesn't get up into the 60's.
But at least one and a half months of the 70's helps.
That's why most Canadians live on their southern border.
It's not love of Americans. It **** cold up there.
Please seat yourself.

a 4x4 prop spinning 42,000  is putting out about 24 ounces of thrust.
a radio controlled "speed plane" can be built that weighs 12 ounces or less...so obviously you  have unlimited vertical in addition to pretty good speed.... :)

I don't see his web site .....!
There is / was a US Dealer and he doesn't list the Cyclon any more...but he would know where to find one I am sure.
Besides Cyclon there are Cyclon clones.....one is  FORA and there is also PROFI.
Both are World Class too.
Here is a look at "control line speed".
It's not my thing..I mean once I've watched it for 30 seconds I've seen enough... :)
The engine is launched with the fuel mixture extra rich so that once the plane gets up to a certain speed and gets a bigger gulp of air...then that's when the tuned pipe does its magic supercharge effect.
So most of the skill [and luck] is anticipating how extra rich the mixture needs to be because too much and it doesn't hit the pipe as hard as it could and if it's a touch too lean then the engine will run pretty hard but run hot enough to ruin itself.

There is a guy from Russia who puts on fancy stuff from back in the 50-60's tube days.

He is on FB or VK....if you look around on VK and get lucky you might be able to find some of the tube heads.

Oddy enough I knew where Novosbirsk is located.  I had a snail mail penpal there.

Sergei say search engine your friend

The city is located in Western Siberia which is characterized by a milder climate. The Altai Mountains in the South protect the region of Novosibirsk and creates a microclimate: winter is not as tough as in neighboring regions and the air is not too dry.

Sergei know Novosibirsk woman make sex energy with beauty.
Sergei advise you not man to handle such sexual creatures

Novosibirsk is in the area I plan to take from you, Russian.  Yes, we know that Moscow cannot hold onto Eastern Russia in its weakened state. We will rename it "New Boise".

So back in the USSR nobody privately owned a full service machine shop...right...?
It's my understanding there were state run hobby centers and state run vocational machine shops that the public could use under strict supervision.
Once the USSR dissolved......was  all of this machinery and  equipment  "looted" by the public and turned into basement operations...?
I know a local guy who designed a model engine after the USSR folded.
He had connections with the world class competitors in Russia and so he was introduced to several single operation shops in Russia that were privately owned.
So he had 1 guy in 1 town making the crankshafts, another guy making the crankcases in another city, another the pistons and cylinder liners, etc.
No one single person ever saw a completely assembled engine...it was up to my friend to hand fit the engines himself from bins full of the parts.
The engines sold very well for a few years until someone in Russia figured out what was going on. The guy in Russia "cloned" this new engine that my friend was selling and this Evil Russian hired all the individual machinists who already knew how to make all of the parts blindfolded.
The new engine company was named NORVEL and they became very big in the 1990s.
They used a military grade anodizing in aluminum cyclinders that the aluminum piston could  be fit tightly to without wear. The aluminum cylinder and aluminum piston grow at the same rate and of course this makes the engine as light as possible and much cheaper to produce than having a brass liner with hard chrome on the wear surface.
Norvel eventually got side tracked with more lucrative government contracts [military I assume] and about this time electric motor powered planes were taking over the internal combustion engine market anyway.
Here's another really popular product that is made in Russia and Ukraine...ready to fly conbat planes for lazy Americans who buy these by the dozens...Магазин моделей (yuvenko-combat.com)
