Trump was going to do NO such thing. Milley is a traitor. Hope he has a very short retirement.maineman » 29 Sep 2023, 1:47 pm » wrote: ↑ Wow....you somehow can discern his specific intent?
As an officer, he had a sworn duty to protect the Constitution from a man who had just demonstrated his willingness to contravene it.
There was no secret strategic plan to nuke China in the early days of January 2021. Milley just let them know that any sabre rattling by our defeated, butt-hurt, lame-duck president was not to be taken seriously and that he would take steps to ensure that no preemptive strikes would occur. He said nothing of our strategic disposition.

Sure, so NOW you want to put conditions on claiming HOW Milley could possibly get away with committing treason, WHEN NOTHING LIKE THAT HAD EVER BEEN IN PLACE! YOU and YOU ALONE claimed that there would be "no justification" for launching a preemptive strike, and YOU ALONE have determined that Trump was guilty of insurrection when there has been no evidence of Trump committing such a crime, and YOU ALONE have judged Trump to have demonstrated his willingness to contravene the US Constitution WITHOUT A SINGLE SCRAP OF EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT IT!maineman » 29 Sep 2023, 11:32 am » wrote: ↑ I just explained it to you. In the absence of a declaration of war, or a congressionally authorized use of force resolution, a lame-duck president who had just lost an election and, who had no actual justification for doing so, could not launch a preemptive strike against another nation a mere two weeks before leaving office and NOT be himself considered a domestic enemy of the Constitution and of the United States by the Military officers sworn to protect and defend the document and not the President. The orders of the President are not inviolate - like the Führer's were.
Oh, so these WEREN'T your words claiming that nearly 2/3 of your military company thought Trump was a terrible president and thought Biden would provide greater sanity and be more competent than Trump, who they were "appalled" at?:maineman » 29 Sep 2023, 11:50 am » wrote: ↑ First. Second, I never claimed that the majority of those who voted for him wouldn't support an order given by Trump.

Nearly two-thirds of the living members of my company at Annapolis, most of whom were like me and served a full career in uniform - and most of whom (unlike me) were lifelong Republicans - were all appalled at what a terrible president Trump had been and how lucky we were to have sanity and competency back in the Oval Office
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that, in January 2021, there was nothing even vaguely approaching a clear and present justification for preemptively attacking China. The election in November had happened. Trump had lost. January 6th had happened. Trump most certainly sent a lynch mob to the capitol for the express purpose of intervening in the Constitutionally mandated process of transferring power. Trump had less than two weeks left in office. The only possible rationale for an unprovoked, preemptive attack against China would have been to use the conflict to declare some sort of national emergency and seek to forestall the Biden inauguration. If not for that, why else would a president start a war with two weeks left in office only to hand the mess off to his successor? Should petulant butt-hurt lame-duck presidents be able to totally **** up American foreign policy on a whim?Zeets2 » 29 Sep 2023, 3:14 pm » wrote: ↑ Sure, so NOW you want to put conditions on claiming HOW Milley could possibly get away with committing treason, WHEN NOTHING LIKE THAT HAD EVER BEEN IN PLACE! And yet without ANY of those conditions being in place, you STILL want to claim that Milley had complete justification to secretly contact China AND TELL THEM THAT IF THE PRESIDENT OF THE US DECIDED TO LAUNCH AN ATTACK, THAT HE WOULD NOTIFY THEM IN ADVANCE! And STILL you claim that Milley did not commit treason by doing what he did!
I suppose if a senile, corrupt, incompetent, lame-duck Biden were to see one of HIS military leaders do the same thing, you'd expect us to believe that you'd support the obligation of an officer to secretly contact other countries and promise to notify them in advance if Biden was going to launch an attack against them, wouldn't you?
Yeah, sure you would!
My company at Annapolis was 34th Company, 6th Battalion.... my classmates in that company were a total of 31 guys. Is English your second language?Zeets2 » 29 Sep 2023, 3:25 pm » wrote: ↑ Oh, so these WEREN'T your words claiming that nearly 2/3 of your military company thought Trump was a terrible president and thought Biden would provide greater sanity and be more competent than Trump, who they were "appalled" at?:

Miley's specific intent was to give his Chinese Friends an up to date status report about our strategic disposition.
That's treason.
Miley was't "protecting the Constitution" one iota.
He was secretly providing intel to our enemy.
That's treason.

Military officers have a duty to the Constitution, not to the president. period. If Trump had wanted to fire Milley for insubordination, he could have. The crime of treason requires proof of specific intent to harm the United States. In this case, Milley's actions were specifically intended to PROTECT the Constitution, the United States, and the planet.
And if world affairs deteriorated to the point where Joe Biden even considered using the US Military in an offensive, preemptive fashion, I am certain he would consult with Pentagon leadership and Congressional leadership and come to a measured rational response. In that case, American leadership would be unified and coordinated, and everyone on the same page, as it should be.

Really weak.

Who cares if your standards were lower...?maineman » 29 Sep 2023, 5:11 pm » wrote: ↑ You only saw TWO Army Commendation Medals handed out?????
One and done, huh?
Hell, I've awarded maybe eight or nine Navy Commendation Medals to sailors myself, and seen countless others get them over the years. They really are pretty mid-level, "thanks a lot for your hard work on that one project" kind of fruit salad. But I'm sure your mom was proud, wasn't she?
my standards weren't at all low. I had a lot of really great sailors work for me over the years, and I served with a lot of them on various ships. I am sure that, if you don't suffer from motion sickness, you'd have been a great sailor yourself...although you'd have had to learn how to dial back your blatant racism.GHETTOBLASTER » 29 Sep 2023, 5:14 pm » wrote: ↑ Who cares if your standards were lower...?

I received several "LETTERS OF COMMENDATION" for exactly the same level of thanks as what you just claimed that your "NAVY COMMENDATION MEDAL" was used "countless times" for.....
Your Navy's standards for personal appearance and fitness was much lower too.maineman » 29 Sep 2023, 5:28 pm » wrote: ↑ kinda depends on the project, though. Doncha think?
