I spent 2 years at Suwon..... They eat so much Kimchi, it comes out of their pores.... Being on a crowded bus or train with them literally reddened your eyes...

I don't know Suwon.  I was in the TDC with the 2nd ID.   When I went to replacement I had orders for Pusan. I think that is the name of it...it is at the bottom of Korea and is a resort town.  I got my orders direct from MILPERSON with Captain Jive.  

At 2nd ID replacement...I told the SGT that my orders read Pusan and he said let me see them.  I so handed to him and he read it...he says hey you are right.  Than he tore them up and said not anymore.  I said THANK YOU SGT FOR LETTING SERVE IN YOUR ARMY.  No sense arguing with him.

They sent me to a MP company in the UNCG (United Nations Command Group)  Luckily I was thrown out.  I mean the MP company was good but our orders came from the UN and we had a separate chain of command that the 8th Army / 2nd Id. Which was **** up and we didn't wear that cooool 2nd ID patch.

If you got expensive stuff the Kimich was good.  I loved the rice and have never tasted any rice as good.

Dig this...speaking of buses a SK hit the back of my truck.  To do a report the cop came out on a bus.  He did not speak English so he asked someone from the crowd to translate for him.  That was kind of weird.

       Army 2nd ID has been in Korea since the beginning, 1950 and maintained a presence ever since.... My dad was an FO with the Army 25th Infantry 51-52.. I was at Suwon, which was an A10 Base in 86-87... I recall there was a huge Navy Base down at Pusan, which was the south tip of the ROK..

      I still keep in touch with a few buddies I was stationed with... I had it going on pretty good there... I lived off base as an E4 Sgt. in a House, and my roommate and I made good cash selling American booze, cigarettes and other stuff to the local Slopes... I had a hot Yobo too, she was great to have as a translator... Our House was a revolving door of cash - contraband -- drunken Airmen - and Korean GoGo Girls... Life was good .
