Not slightly true, thanks to government employee unions. Non essential government employees were paid back every penny, as if they had worked, the last few shutdowns. Essential workers got back pay and bonuses. People like TSA agents, air traffic control etc. They would have worked through the shutdown and not paid until the shutdown is over.
Those who didn't work, don't get paid.

Some are required to work and may not get paid until the budget is resolved, while others are furloughed and also don't get paid, but are always given full pay after the budget is passed.
Can you tell me what federal workers either don't get paid during the shutdown, OR receive full back pay after the budget is approved and they return to work?
Because I'm not aware of any, and that means it's nothing but a paid vacation for them, albeit they have to wait for their back pay.
Here's all I could find on the subject:
some have to work without pay until the shut down ends.

I understand that, but they ALL still get paid in full when it ends, right?
Just at those who are furloughed during the shutdown who will be paid for the week(s) missed in full when they return to work.
That means it's a paid vacation, UNLIKE anything that exists in the private sector.
I'm sure it there may be some hardship for someone living paycheck to paycheck, but how tough is it to live using your credit cards for a week or two, knowing you'll get your full back paid for that "vacation" when it ends, which is NEVER more than a couple of weeks.

the last shut down lasted several weeks.

we are not doing the people of ukraine any good sending weapons to ukraine. russia just bombs back harder. get russia and ukraine to sign a peace treaty and zelinsky forgets about crimea. if russia refuses to sign then send weapons.

maybe include them too. or make them independents. I saw something along those lines one time.

You are correct. I should have looked it up before I posed. I just looked it up and you're correct.
There's another good reason to not shutdown the government on top of the already long list of good reasons.
