We are paying $60 to feed a family of four McDonald's. A night out for the same family is routinely over $200. Really think housing is going to tank anytime soon? It's all built on ****, has been since we moved to fiat currency. Real estate will predictably continue to rise in value, they are not making more of it. The more we devalue the dollar, the more wheelbarrows of cash will be asked for property.Vegas » 02 Oct 2023, 11:14 am » wrote: ↑ It's stupid to buy a home now. We rent, but we are waiting to buy. I have a feeling there will be a crash. When that happens, then we will buy.

Do not spend your money there- don't feed the piggy!Neo » 02 Oct 2023, 1:02 pm » wrote: ↑ We are paying $60 to feed a family of four McDonald's. Not if you don't sell. Markets rebound. Now, if this was simply going to be investment for income, you have a point. An apples to apples comparison would be not buying Gulf Oil stock in the early 1980's when oil prices plummeted (or dumping when the decline started). You would have missed out of T. Boone Pickens making his run and having Chevron swoop in as a white knight. That event made my late father-in-law millions.Vegas » 02 Oct 2023, 11:53 am » wrote: ↑ Depends on what you are willing to sacrifice. We personally don't want to be screwed. If we buy a 450k home now, then the crash happens, and it is worth 200k, then we got screwed. We would prefer to put up with any inconveniences now, so we don't have to endure that kind of anal rape.

Look, I already turned you into my little bitch this morning. Don't make me spank you twice.

You are wrong. Ok, there you go.

I don't think McDonald's is worth $60 to feed 4 for a single meal. Use to be able to say I could feed a family for a week on less than $100 and they would eat well! That is no longer the case. I could certainly make a meal for 4 at less than $60 but certainly not a week. Prices are up. Recockulasly.sootedupCyndi » 02 Oct 2023, 1:07 pm » wrote: ↑ Do not spend your money there- don't feed the piggy!
Then they aren't screwed like you said they would be. In fact, if the value drops by more than 50% (and it never will sans another Great Depression) they might get a break on property taxes.Vegas » 02 Oct 2023, 1:20 pm » wrote: ↑ For most people, it's not an investment property. I thought housing prices in our area were inflated. I thought it would crash or level off 5 years ago. Asking prices more than doubled in the last 5 years. I put away my miss cleo hat when I saw most houses being sold for cash above list price. We are seeing Wallstreet buying up main Street and converting property owners into renters. Tell me I'm wrong or by me a beer bitch.

That will be entirely dependent on the amount financed. And, if property taxes and insurance goes down (and insurance on a home worth 200k is less than that on a home worth 450k) then the house note goes down. In our case...even with a 65% decline in value we would still have equity.Vegas » 02 Oct 2023, 1:45 pm » wrote: ↑ They got screwed because their mortgage payments will be almost twice than they could have been. So you're predicting a crash in prices 150% worse than the drop during the subprime crisis. I seriously doubt that.walkingstick » 02 Oct 2023, 1:47 pm » wrote: ↑ no brainier. 100% true. housing will crash over 75%. first to go: commuter subdivisions. ouch!!!! $9.97 gas on its way. and commuter house crash. so what. fun while it lasted. move over you homeless bum. yes. city labor needs room for tent. and graham sends tax dollars to ukraine. ukraine comes before usa labor, or any needs in usa.
