Gen X doesn't give a ****. We will find a way to survive. The millenials and Gen Zers though? Yeah, they won't last long. They can't do **** without a phone or some kind of technology.

Each generation does manage to survive. The young couple without kids who bought the new house next door are both Pharmacist from Texas. I love seeing young people just killing it! Even that is no guarantee they both don't end up on Medicaid in the end.

I guess I don't have enough good experience in playing the game.
All the playing I  have done and I have only cashed in really well once.
Wasn't worth the effort in the long run. Sort of broke even when totaled up.

When Vegas became a member on this forum in 2014, the median home price in Las Vegas was $204k with interest rates just above 4%.  Now that median is closer to $450k.  and 8+%. Add in nine years worth of rent (we paid $28,000 in rent for 2022 while the house was built and live 500 miles from Vegas) and you get quite a large missed opportunity to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars at a minimum. Everyone has a story and no two are the same.

I moved from a town where the median home price hit $800k and the median price almost tripled from 2014 to 2021. There is something to be said about being at the right place at the right time and being in a position to take advantage of such an increase. That is not normally the outcome for most people. I didn't even blink at paying cash in an area where the median is around $400k.

Just blame the Boomers, it's all their fault. Life was handed to them on a silver platter.
The fact that America ended up on top of the world for a few decades is not the fault of the people alive at the time.
That state of the union was never destined to be forever.
To look back with resentment because things change over time is dumb.
Casting blame born of this resentment and (dare I say) jealousy seems futile.

I'm not even assuming you were serious in making the comment.
Seeing it become a common refrain is just coming from people who have given up.

People can just sit and cry or go after the problems...  But they won't. Go after the problems, that is.
The young today don't have the backbone to do ****. Everyone today just acts.
It's all on a silver platter. Until the server quits serving...

These charts are uninformative. What are you trying to communicate with them?

Puts are just betting against a stock. Instead of predicting that a stock will raise, you are betting that it will fall.

Shorting is same as a bet against a stock, right?

Just showing how somebody defines each generation that has some cutesy nickname.

They aren't as separate as people think. At least not in mindset. Lots of overlap.

I know people that are infantile in their fifties and others mature in their twenties.

Maybe only 5-10% of option traders end up making money. The time decay will turn your pile of money to zero. It took me about 18 months to loose $50k a little over 20 years ago. I hope you do better.

If you insist, keep this in mind. Hedge your bets and if you do end up "in the money", take it!!!
It won't be the big win you wanted but at least that trade ends up being a winner.

The wife and I are coming to Vegas in a couple of weeks to drop $6-7k, never know how that will turn out but for sure it will be funner than losing money trading options.

Buy your wife the house!

Agreed. I don't put a lot on puts because of what you said. It has a low rate of success. However, it's fun sometimes.

Yes. Construction is always first to collapse. Watch construction stocks and home builders such as Toll brothers. As these companies go so will the construction business.
