8 honest and ballsy republicans played a game of divide and conquer FOR the people, rather than against us.

And they pulled it off.

Disruption is the goal of any honest person at this point - which explains why weak-minded *** like @ConsRule  are against these heroes.

That's the problem with people who believe like you...THERE IS NO DIVIDE AND CONQUER FOR THE PEOPLE.

My goal is a strong republican majority in the House, a republican majority in the Senate and a republican in the Oval Office.  That way republicans, if they can stop bitch slapping each other, can start moving the country to republican objectives.  Saying we have to go from where we are now to a balance budget in one year is NEVER going to happen.  There will never be enough republican votes to pull that off.  That is the real world.  Live in your fantasy world if you choose, but don't resort to name calling those who understand reality.  That is the tactic of a 5 year old...apologies to 5 year olds.  For that goal to be reached, republicans MUST work together to govern.  The **** show that has been happening will lead to another strong demonrat House majority and Jeffries as Speaker.  Do you want that?

So now what?  Who will be Speaker?  Stay in the real world with your answer.  I've already seen a few names and the one that I think could come close is Scalise...but he would also have to compromise and promise most of the caucus everything just to get the votes...then we are right back where we were with McCarthy.

Be careful what you wish for...you just may get it.

The amusing part is they are calling Gaetz and the others that voted against McCarthy extremists....
I can live with the meme that if you vote with Democrats you're an extremist.

He was the only republican who had a chance to getting elected unless demonrats decided to make it a bipartisan election...and that wasn't going to happen. In the next few days, demonrats have a choice...vote as a block for Jeffries and let the selection of a new Speaker drag on, or try to extract some flesh from the next Speaker in the form of concessions to them. If it gets out they are trying the later, that republican will play hell getting votes from republicans. The republican caucus needs to lock themselves in a room and hammer out among themselves who they want...then elect him/her on the first ballot and then vote as a block behind the new Speaker on everything that gets to the floor between now and the election.

Sadly, there are enough idiots in the republican caucus that will never happen.

When you look at the actual Vote count, over 90% of Repubs voted in favor of keeping McCarthy on .... He was ousted by a tiny minority of 8 hard-right fringe GOPs... It's very reminiscent of when The Repubs swept it all in 2016 to control the House, Senate, and Presidency ----- then promptly got to in-fighting, accomplished nothing -- and handed back control of the House to the Democrats 2 years later..... 

        To their credit --- as destructive as their policies may be, the Democrats remain thick as thieves when it comes to passing their legislation, and speak in a unified front no matter what....

Affects that effect outcomes arriving next. Skans - Kevin McCarthy made promises to Gaetz and other Conservative Republicans to become Speaker of the House in a pretty contentious series of negotiations.  While, this will be a temporary disaster for House Republicans, the ouster needed to be done.  McCarthy walked all over the Conservative wing of the party, reneging on promises he made.  If Gaetz did not oust McCarthy, then the Conservatives would have been completely neutered.  So, Gaetz inflicted some real pain upon **** who don't honor the promises they make to gain power.  And, that's the way it should be.
