With all of the nastiness going on in our political system; I thought I would lighten things up with my favorite unofficial election for the King ( or Queen of Chonk). Now these are candidates I can really get behind! Get your votes in today!
Bear politics at its finest. This election is based on pure merit. Unlike our political process.
It is Fat Bear week, and our favorite bears are packing it on at the Salmon Run in Alaska:

KATMAI NATIONAL PARK, Alaska – Starting on Wednesday, the bears of Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska will battle to see who is the burliest of them all, with fat bear fans from around the world choosing the winner online.
Called Fat Bear Week, this portliest time of the year is an annual celebration of the brown bears of Brooks River in Katmai and, specifically, how the burly bears are able to utilize their healthy and abundant ecosystem to pack on the pounds before fall and winter hibernation.

I had an encounter with a very large Maine black bear. He was very close... ten feet?
He looked at me- and I did him. I stood real still. because he WAS HUGE
I read his mind..... we looked into each others eyes...
He said- you don't cut sheet with me.
He calmly walked off into the woods.- without a care in the world.
I was a bit upset. My human ego- didn't matter! LOL
It was a once in a life time experience- and it did humble me.
