If Bama beats the Dogs in the SEC Championship, then Michigan/Bama for the title after the smoke clearsimpartialobserver » 20 Nov 2023, 2:51 pm » wrote: ↑ Ohio State vs. Michigan.. I see Ohio State winning a close one 24-21, 28-27, or so.
FSU playing North Alabama... you expect them to score lots of points.
The real story for myself was that UNLV and New Mexico State won. It is really hard to field a successful team at UNLV and somehow Barry Odom has done it. Not only are they 9-2 and most likely playing for a conference championship.. they are somewhat young and could be set up to succeed in years to come. As for NMSU, they have been the punching bag for all of college football since 1960. A few winning seasons but never truly a contender for anything. Their "up" years are 7-6 and winning some no-name bowl against Utah State or Western Michigan. Well, Jerry Kill is doing something there that has never been done before. They beat Auburn 31-10 and outgained them handily. This was not a close call.

I can't believe what I just watched in the Bama Auburn game.impartialobserver » 21 Nov 2023, 4:01 pm » wrote: ↑ Bama could win but my money is on Georgia. Better OL and QB play. I do think that Michigan can and will beat Ohio St. Close game but Michigan's OL and RB play will dominate the clock and keep OSU off the field.
We shall see when it comes to UGA vs. ALA.. I stand by my prediction that UGA wins. Probably something in the range of 31-17 or 31-20.RedheadedStranger » 25 Nov 2023, 7:06 pm » wrote: ↑ I can't believe what I just watched in the Bama Auburn game.
Michigan beat the Buckeyes today too!
If Bama gets passed Georgia for the SEC Championship, it could be magic!
Rate that BS keeps going mid December to mid January will become the sweet 16 tournament like march is for basketball. The 4th Reich » 27 Nov 2023, 9:42 am » wrote: ↑ There's now talk of a 12 teams playoff.
I think college football has done an excellent marketing job by keeping up interest. If they can keep up the chatter about what is wrong with the 4 team playoff, then that is more than half the battle to get viewers.

You only need one or two star players in order to be competitive and win a few games in the tournament. Football, you need 12 to 15 and they need to be healthy at the end of the year. That effectively eliminates all but 6 to 8 teams; Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Washington, Penn State, Texas, and Alabama being the only viable contenders
am not used to someone not just saying, "Florida State". You forgot that I live out West. So, yes include Florida state in that list. The point is that in football.. the number of true contenders is far less than in basketball due to number of players on the field/court at one time and injuries.
Yep... but that hasn't been the case in the past.The4thReich » 01 Dec 2023, 6:34 pm » wrote: ↑ If the 4 main undefeated teams win, they're in. Easy, right?
