Seriously - which half are we talking about, even? Half of them are Christians and half of them are Randians. And the third half are COMPLETELY unhinged. Ayn Rand was VIRULENTLY anti-religious, and many a born-againer embraces her. It's **** insane. I love Jesus and Ayn Rand. WTF...

And it isn't like any sort of serious foray into the woman would fail to apprise these apes of her militant anti-religiousness. It's obvious they've only read ABOUT her and haven't even had the dignity to read HER. How the **** do you embrace a philosopher whose work you have not even bothered to read???

I got little use for libertarians. I mean, I GET it - the native streak that runs through all americans. We all have some libertarian LEANINGS. It's our national character - or was, pre-obama/pre-gender-assault. We are all half savage indian and half european (Well - all REAL americans). But to dive head first into libertarianism? Maybe as a sophomore crush. But not as an adult - not for long, anyway. There are just too many contradictions - too many things ya know in your gut are not correct.

Lemmee give ya an example of what chaps my *** about libertarians. They say that animals have no rights, as they are property. They cannot respect rights, therefore they cannot have them.

Okay, I can live with that - as a concept. I get it. That's fine - I don't give my dogs rights. I don't think the framers fought for my dogs' rights. 

But then they go farther. As pets are property, and as no man has a right to tell you how to dispose of/treat your property, therefore animal cruelty laws have no legitimate basis. And this is where ya gotta separate the randians from the religious ones. Because the religious ones understand that there is Something greater than ourselves making the rules - and that tautologies cannot override that Something. So, we are responsible to more than just concepts and more than just social compacts. We are responsible to our Creator, and we are responsible to the conscience He endowed us with. So when we see a fellow mistreating an animal, we have not just a right but a DUTY to move on that ****. 

So, half of your libertarians understand that we have a natural right - given us by God Almighty - to protect animals from **** heels. And the other half? They are aghast at this idea, because they do not believe in God, and therefore they do not believe in our duty of stewardship, and therefore they cannot see - from within their pathetic tautology - any justification for society protecting animals from freaks who would abuse them. 

That's just one quick example - but one that particularly irks me. And it leads me always to wonder, "What does this fellow mean by the world 'libertarian'?"

I REMEMBER READING ABOUT RAND AND HOW SHE FIRST OPPOSED LIBERTARIANISM BUT LATER BECAME ASSOCIATED WITH THE MODERN LIBERTARIAN MOVEMENT IN THE U.S, ALTHOUGH SHE ENDORSED SEVERAL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES.

Let's assume it's a lie along the lines of Iraqi soldiers turfing babies out of incubators in Kuwaiti hospitals - personally I'm giving it no more than about a 30% chance of being correct, as it sounds like an unnecessary complication in an already chaotic situation. If that turns out to be the case, it changes nothing. The confirmed levels of barbarity committed against innocent men women and children, are already grotesquely brutal enough for even the strongest stomachs.

That point being exposed as a sadistic lie, concocted to manipulate the masses, would register as little more than an insignificant foot-note. The response of Israel is still every bit as warranted

It's the definition of "animal cruelty" that will always be argued about. The extremists would like to stop me from farming pork chops or riding my horse.

Look into California prop 12 and the effect it will have/is having on our food prices.

I do not judge libertardians by the stewpidity of the homosexuals in california, though. I judge them by their doctrines/tautologies. 

I have had libertardians hold the line at a man's right to sit on his stoop and torture puppies for fun. He held to this preposterous position because he understood that he was on a slippery slope, and he did not want to budge for fear of his tautology failing him - and it would have. Ya go in these ridiculous "all men are an island, and none owe aught to the main" policies, and ya HAVE to hold the line. 

He believed - incorrectly - that if he just held to his doctrine, he could bull through without ceding the moral high ground. But I kept on him, demanding to know whether he really, truly was such a fellow as would brook without violent response the torture of puppies. In the end, he admitted that he would beat the holy **** out of such a sorry cock sucker. And he thereby went on record - to my happiness and thunderous trumpeting - as a fellow who, if the world he demanded of us were given him, could not be counted upon to abide therein peaceably: The type of fellow who would attack his neighbor for breaking no law - just for annoying him with perfectly legal activity. 

How can we respect a fellow who lays out a plan for society which, upon investigation of it, is a plan that could not even assure us of HIS peaceful behavior, much less society's? That fellow is the very embodiment of the libertarian movement.
