My position is that Hamas is more responsible for what's happening to the Palestinian people today than Israel is.

If you ran up and poked a sleeping bear with a stick and the bear started tearing your arms and legs off, then its kinda disingenuous to say the bear is in the wrong for tearing your arms and legs off.

I think what is happening to the Palestinians is atrocious and horrible, just like it was when it happened to the innocent Israelis. My point is from what I'm seeing today, right now... Hamas is more responsible for what it happening to the Palestinians today than Israel is.

If Hamas hadn't sent 1500 or so radicals into Israeli neighborhoods to kill or kidnap everything that was breathing, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. Just the way I see it.

Two wrongs don’t make a right

Hamas is more reasonable for what’s happening to the Palestinians today

but not for all of Palestines history

Israel is hardly a sleeping bear

or innocent

I agree that two wrongs don't make a right, but it's hard to just stand there and let the other side bloody your nose and not hit back too.

I was thinking the other day, this Country fought an absolutely bloody and horrific five year Civil war just a little over a 150 years ago, but today, there is almost zero hostility between the opposing sides of that conflict among the populous of this Country.

I have to believe it was because there was a clear victor, with the opposing side capitulating completely... and that would be the only thing that would settle this crap in the M.E.

I just don't ever see that happening over there in this ****. Neither "side" is innocent in this conflict. All I'm saying is that what is happening today, right now, lays way more at Hamas' feet than it does Israel's.

How much of that land was taken after the Arabs attacked Israel and ended up getting their asses kicked?

Hint: Nearly all of it

That's the way war works.

Hell, Israel held the Sinai peninsula, the West Bank, the Golan Heights and Gaza in the aftermath of the 1967 conflict... but ended up giving most of it back in the name of peace.

So much for that.

It's also important to keep in mind this brutal & lethal attack by Hamas was not limited to Israeli victims..... To date 30 of those murdered were US Citizens -- with another 13 unaccounted for , and presumed being held hostage... Hamas has not shown itself to be remotely reasonable,  and I am actually surprised they have not released those Americans, along with some sort of statement saying they were not an intended target and were mistakenly apprehended..

Correct... The winner in a war draws borders and dictates terms -- not the losers...
All of those territorial expansions regarding Israel resulted from military victories over invading Arab neighbours....

Other land gains and occupation  were because outside Arab peace-keeping parties such as Syria, Jordan and others were not holding to security agreements in not allowing the Palestinian territories to be used as launching sites to attack Israel.. People also forget Israel returned the Sinai to Egypt once a permanent peace treaty was reached...

As for Maps ---- lets look at European Maps prior to WW1, and then after .... Or Maps prior to WW2, and again after.... Same with the Mideast or pretty much every part of the world.... Maps change.

You're maps all wrong.  See that little green strip along the south-western coast?  That's no longer Palestinian.  It's New Miami.

Do you think Hamas really expected the Israelis to pack up and leave the region after the attack last week?

No... they expected Israel to return fire in spades and kill Palestinians so the Arab world would unite with them against Israel. Hamas had used this tactic since it's inception.

Hamas wants dead Palestinians. Hell, they need them.
So, the Israelis are rubes and HAMAS has played them out of pocket brilliantly? And you figured this out all by yourself? Image

How could anyone expect different, given the US is the one empowering the brutalization of the palestinian people?
