Portable microwave weapons capable of causing “Havana Syndrome” brain injuries in US diplomats (i.e. spies) have been developed by several countries in recent years.  The Russians have such weapons.  The U.S. Military has a variety of these weapons.  Israel likely has these weapons and likely developed some of them.The U.S. Marines have had microwave weapons since 2004. The American public has been aware of a microwave weapon called "Medusa" which is non-lethal.  The it is small enough to fit in a car, and cause a temporarily incapacitating effect but with a low probability of fatality or permanent injury.

That was 2004 - 20 years ago.  Now, there are hand-held versions of directed energy weapons which are lethal.  They are perfect for use in tunnel warfare.

Radio short wave and ultra-short wave transmitters can burn you.  At the high frequencies generated by these machines, ranging from ten to a hundred million oscillations per second, can cause burns. Perhaps he just burned himself with his own shortwave transmitter???

Microwaves don't work...has a spider in mine, so I nuked the **** out of it and ended having to kill the bastard anyway...but at least I avoided becoming...

Actually, microwaves do work.  The magnetron in your microwave is a far cry from the ones used in these weapons.

Also, there are infrared lasers which are nearly invisible which can blind a person. There are electromagnetic weapons which can make people disoriented, physically sick, and even kill them.  They have been tested on "diplomats" all across the world.  WAKE UP, MAN, THIS IS THE 21ST CENTURY!!!!  We have all kinds of cool ways to hurt and kill humans.

Are they hand held or drone delivery system. Microwaves in a tunnel warfare reflect so a human operator is as vulnerable as the targets. Tunnel warfare makes tunnels with lots of 90 degree turns to slow the force of explosions so they would cause big loses in microwave efficiency also.
