Answer me honestly. Until I posted his name here, did you have any idea who Daniel Shaver even was, let alone the circumstances surrounding his death?

You say that race doesn't matter, but it does. Otherwise there would have been outrage and riots in the Summer of 2016 for Shaver.

I'm talking about both... and how race plays into it.

Police brutality only seems to be an issue when it's directed at minorities... otherwise we would see mass protests over people like Shaver too, and not just Floyd 

The problem of heavy handed cops has been around for as long as their has been such a thing as cops so your "how did we get here?" question just rang hollow to me. We've been here, for as long as I can remember.

Asking that question made it sound like you are just now realizing it because of the Floyd case... and none of us would have ever known who Floyd was if he were white.

I'll give you an example of sailing in harm's way, my Dad was on the USS Wilson, as an 18 year old sailor in the South Pacific. While being attacked by Jap Kamakazi Planes the elevators for the magazine hold were disabled ...... he and his buddies carried the ordnance to the deck guns up a ladder. He never spoke of it, my uncles told me the story......that's being in harm's way. You got anything close? Let's hear it.
