Which is why it doesn't care about the destruction of Gaza or Gazans. .....

              Hamas was spawned from the Gazan chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamic movement begun in 1920s Egypt.... All of the Hamas Founders were active members of the MB.... When the Israelis pulled their Military presence and 9000 settlers out of the Gaza territory, they did not install Hamas as the governing entity..... The Palestinian Authority assumed control and the people of Gaza freely elected Hamas into power in 2007.... And they have suffered greatly ever since... I'll agree, the Israelis were hoping for a political alternative to the PA would emerge in Gaza, but they were not expecting or hoping a Militant Islamic movement that called for their destruction would be elected to power.

              At some point people need to see that much of the suffering of the Gaza and West Bank Arabs / Palestinians was brought upon themselves by their own poor choices in leadership ------ Arafat/PLO, PA, Hamas...

I know the origins of Hamas and there would be no Hamas if it wasn't for the Israeli's backing them against Arafat .....
Do you really believe there is  no regular communication between Hamas and Israel ?
Arafat didn't......all those years before the election  of Hamas.

         True...
They not only fooled Israel, but deceived their own people in Gaza....They gained the trust & support of the Gazan residents by running on a platform of anti-corruption & improved social services .. And initially, there were some improvements, but this was short-lived... Their Military wing became the dominant political force and began to divert all resources from bettering infrastructure and the lives of the people, to their capabilities to wage war on Israel...

Arafat didn't......all those years before the election  of Hamas.

        I don't think Israelis recognized or understood what the eventual goals & militant movement of Hamas would evolve into ... Neither did many of the Gazan residents who voted them into power... They assumed / hoped whatever emerged in the power vacuum after their Troop withdrawal would be a better alternative to the Palestinian Authority ----- they were gravely mistaken.

one of the best sources explaining the rise to power of Hamas in Gaza, and the internal struggle that resulted in the Militant wing of the organization seizing control is in the book Son of Hamas by Mosab Hassan Yousef.... Mosab's father Sheik Hassan Yousef was a founder and spiritual leader of Hamas, and was part of that struggle...
