Initially he came out as staunchly behind Israel ---- and though he hasn't abandoned this position, he has certainly changed tact since the backlash from the Anti Israeli / Pro Hamas elements in the Democrat Party & Voter Base.... In other words, like a true sackless politician he is trying to be all things to all people...

He said in that last vid posted here that this has the potential to escalate that very way and become the end of Israel in the long run.

This has shades of 9/11 written all over it.
"Revenge for the Holy Land" was the **** reason for the Twin Towers et al.
"Saving Palestinians" is the **** reason for the Palis sneaking in past the guards.

Both are provocations meant to cause a hoped for response.
IOW The act itself is not the goal. It is the response.
Another interesting take I heard was if there was a way to eliminate Hamas, it could possibly create a restart to the peace negotiations ---- it really is going to hinge and what, if anything replaces Hamas.... I think where Hamas gambled wrong this time is their belief Israel would just sign onto another ceasefire as always, and it would be back to business as usual --- but this time it is looking like they won't... They may have provoked much more than the response they were hoping for... And so far, other than chest pounding, posturing , and verbal threats against Israel --- the response from the Muslim / Arab world has been minimal or token at most... Even Hezbollah seems tentative to go all out in this one...

Hamas intentionally provoked this military response from Israel --- fully knowing the likelihood of a major IDF incursion into Gaza, and how that would impact the population... And as you pointed out, this was in hopes of widening the conflict by drawing in outside support from the Muslim / Arab world.... And rather than protect or fight for the Gazan civilians, Hamas operatives hide behind them, and underneath them as well   --- staging attacks which they know might result in non combatant casualties when the IDF retaliates.... A dead Gazan civilian has far more value than a live one to Hamas..  Their strategy at this point is to hang in as long as they can, hoping  for a Muslim Military intervention --- or pressure from the International Community to get the Israelis onboard with a ceasefire...  Cowards...

In an interview with CNN on Tuesday, Graham was asked if there was a “threshold” for him, after which he would start questioning Israel’s tactics. The Republican replied in the negative, saying there is no limit as to “what Israel should do to the people who are trying to slaughter the Jews.

he still supprots israel bombing the **** out of gaza

18 October 2023Peace and SecurityThe United States on Wednesday vetoed a UN Security Council resolution that would have called for “humanitarian pauses” to deliver lifesaving aid to millions in Gaza. The failure by the Council to make its first public intervention on the Israel-Gaza crisis followed the rejection of a Russian-backed draft on Monday evening.

While 12 of the Council’s 15 members voted in favour of the Brazilian-led text, one (United States) voted against, and two (Russia, and the United Kingdom) abstained.A ‘no’ vote from any one of the five permanent members of the Council stops action on any measure put before it. The body’s permanent members are China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

russia wants the bombing to end completely.

******************************************************Russian amendmentsPrior to the vote, two amendments proposed by Russia, calling for an immediate, durable and full ceasefire, and to stop attacks against civilians were rejected by the Security Council.Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia told Council Ambassadors “the time for diplomatic metaphors is long gone.” Anyone who did not support Russia’s draft resolution on this issue bears responsibility for what happens, he said. The current draft “has no clear call for a ceasefire” and “will not help to stop the bloodshed”.He said Russia’s amendments proposed a call to end indiscriminate attacks on civilians and infrastructure in Gaza and the condemnation of the imposition of the blockade on the enclave; and adding a new point for a call for a humanitarian ceasefire.“If these are not included in the current draft, it would not help to address the human situation in Gaza and polarize positions of the international community,” he said.

Read my post again.... I said he hadn't abandoned his support for Israel's Military air strikes and military incursion.... What I am stating is he is trying to find ways to appease members of his Party that do not share his stance regarding Israel... This is why you see him being more vocal about Israel avoiding civilian casualties --- allocating aid & funding to Gazan Relief etc...

But you clearly cannot put any responsibility on the Gazan people themselves, when the fact is as much as anything they are victims of their own creation through their disastrous choices in leadership and political representation...

Assigning guilt by association is a common tactic in political debate.

Like jerra trying to say that since I don't support Hamas in Palestine then I must be a Biden supporter since he loves Jews.

😂
