I used to drink Bud Light - not a bad light beer. I actually drink beer because I'm thirsty, not because I like to savor the fruity, oaky, hoppy ****. I did like to drink a Guinness Stout once in awhile. That is, until I saw that they are something like 300 calories. A bit of a shame. I have no idea where you live and do not want to know but my guess is that Chattanooga, TN is not that far. They are a rising star in the microbrewery world. Mark my words.. by 2035, they will be right up there with Seattle, Portland, Grand Rapids Michigan, San Diego, and Boise. Well, when I say "beer", i am including all of the varietals such as pilsner, lager, belgian ale, ale, barleywine-style ale, Porter, Stout, Sour, etc. My faves are high abv, intense IPA's. Main reason is that I have no sense of smell and therefore anything else takes like nothing.

It is my experience that those in the cities who drink Bud Light do so because of price and availability. When a 12 oz. bud Light is $1.99 and a Sam Adams Boston Lager is $5.99 for the same size.. Bud Light wins out. Having been out and about lately.. I have not seen any cans or marketing material with this trans stuff on it.

Little factoid.. when you go somewhere and you see Mexican Lager.. the only difference is that they are using corn in additional to the barley along with lager yeast and hops. Bud light is made with rice and barley.
