I remember Gino's (a local chain named after Gino the Bmore football player) you could go in and get 2 big *** burgers, fries, a soda and get change.  I think McDonald's bought them out and a lot of the BLDs became Dunk'n Donuts run by Mister Patel.

I remember Gino's.... One of my Brothers went to Loyola in Baltimore.... We'd get hammered, then go there to grab Burgers... The food was good from what I can recall...

There were Chains back in the day the family would go to that we enjoyed.... A&W Restaurants ---- Shakey's PIzza --- Sambos --- Howard Johnsons -- Beefsteak Charlies.. Even our local Woolworths had a Lunch Counter, they made great Grilled Cheese sandwiches & Shakes..

Those idiots in California passed a law requiring fast food employees to make a min. of $20 an hour. Like these brain dead illegals and high school dropouts deserve that.

And this is what happens when ignorant asshole politicians who've never owned a Business or had to meet a Payroll make decisions for those who actually do ---- Especially regarding smaller independently owned Restaurants.... Front of the House Employees such as Servers, Busboys, Bartenders etc make up around 70% of the Staff... These are Gratuity-Based workers who are paid a smaller hourly wage, because they mostly earn Tips... You cannot Triple your labor cost of these Employees in an industry that only averages a 5% profit margin.....

He was given a $15 gift card for a sub place.  The card was from his employer.  He appreciated the card.

He goes to the sub place and orders and say and make it large. He also gets a gigantic pop and a bag of chips. The bag of chips was a joke, he says.  It felt like a small handful of chips were inside the bag or some such.

The total comes up to $18.00 and some change.  They then ask him if he want to round up to $19.00 for homeless of maybe Thanksgiving. He does it.  Then they ask about a tip!  He does that, too. So, I think by now the total  is $22 or some ridiculous amount.

He was disappointed with the sub, and I guess it gave him the ****.

First, I don't know where they get off asking for a tip.  They're fast food workers.  Second, is this what minimum wage has come to?
when they ask for a tip say, "Sure...if you want to make more money get a better job"

That Woolworth's lunch counter menu is so old they still call a hot dog a frankfurter!

I used to eat at the Kmart cafe with my Granny when I visited in the Summers and a grilled cheese, chips and a drink was like 75¢.

Yeah and it's like you said..... The KMart Cafeteria Was based on the same Marketing model / strategy as the Woolworths Lunch Counters..... It kept you in the door & spending more... LIke you said, you'd shop --- sit down for a bite --- get your 2nd wind --- and often would do a little more shopping before you left...

First off, in this day and age, anyone who goes to sub shops is just axing for a roundup sandwich.
Second, anyone who rounds up is paying for kids to be molested.
Third,

Sorry, I forgot third.

If I had been going to intimate such, my spelling and grammar would have been correct.

Dam I forgot this was a spelling bee!  When you can't beat the message beat the messenger !

If a VC pointed a SKS at your head and started talking Vietnamese...would you think he was inviting you to come over his hotch for some rice and FK his wife ?  Or would you understand that he is really pissed off and your life was at stake ?

So getting the point across is all that matters.
