Yeah, I'm a Kristofferson fan. He was America's poet laureate, for my money.Sumela » 25 Nov 2023, 10:10 pm » wrote: ↑ The Kerrville event is the Folk Festival.
We went a few times when I was a kid
living in Fredericksburg, TX, about
30 miles from Kerrville. Thats the
heart of the TX hill country. As a kid
I was fairly disinterested other than
all the braless girls in tank tops. GLORIOUS!
The Willie event is the 4th of July Picnic.
Held in MANY places since the mid 70s.
We went once in the 90s when it was held
in Luckenbach, TX. Parking, walking, drunks,
....a nightmare. Only thing worth the trip was
Kris Kristopherson...Me and Bobby McGee. GLORIOUS!

My brother smoked a joint with willie in Luckenbach.
I went to Kerrville about 2006. It was wall to wall undercovers and meth heads - a real **** horror show. I left the camp site and slept in the **** car. I was sure I was gonna have to shoot one of the meth heads, one way or another. They were off the **** hook.
Yeah, I don't believe he smoked that joint with today's willy. Your time in Luckenbach wasn't the first time willie played there. I believe he was just a bounce around guy when my brother smoked that joint with him. Might have been my brother's joint.Sumela » 25 Nov 2023, 10:34 pm » wrote: ↑ KK is an American Icon no question. But Sylvia Plath was more ****... dark, brooding...possibly a Cumunist. Fascinating woman.
WTF, did your brother ever recover from "Willie Weed"??![]()
Damn, never knew Kerrville became a meth head community.

Every time we had crossed a bridge, I would have been unable to suppress the impulse to suggest she jump.
