We were coming back from a 1200 mile weekend trip that included a wedding and reception in the middle of it, and we're about 75 miles from home at 2am and I had to be to work at 7am.
She is asleep in the passenger seat and I've got our '85 Honda Prelude running about 145 trying to get home as fast as I can... taking no prisoners.
She wakes up, realizes how fast we are going and freaks out and grabs the damn steering wheel... while I'm running 145.
I instinctively ball up my right fist and drop it on the top of her left thigh as hard as I could in a desperate attempt to get her to let go of the steering wheel.
She let go, and then bawled... I felt horrible.
And that is the story of the only time I ever hit my (ex) wife.
