No, Snowflake, you aren't listening to the students.  If they don't think it is funny; then it isn't funny.  You can't MAKE them laugh at your outdated humor.  Walk up to some old guys and call them ladies, and they will laugh.

I hear young people laughing at things that I don't understand, but this kind of humor isn't meant for me.

People who are not miserable do not find it necessary to let everyone know that they are offended at something. They just roll their eyes and move on with life.
