There are plenty of insanely wealthy celebs who don't seem to do or provide anything for their riches & status----- The Kardashian Bimbos are probably the most standout example of this.... The only talent they seem to have is their remarkable ability to leave any Man they get into a marriage or relationship with into a very lost & confused trainwreck..

Yeah,
I think it's called a "Brazilian Butt LIft"..... I'm a bit lost on its purpose, other than I've been told many White Women get this procedure because having a fat *** is appealing to Negro Men.... ?

It's incredible what people will pay for concert tickets nowadays.....
I paid $16 for decent seats to see Pink Floyd's original THe Wall Tour in 1980 on Long Island... I think I paid $9 to see Zeppelin.... The best $5 I ever spent was to see the Ramones!
I got to catch the Stones a few times, and they were always a great show... Their performance on the Steel Wheels tour was the best... You'll have fun/.

the music business has changed along with ticketmaster coming to dominate the industry. In 1985.. the touring promoted the album. Now these days, the album promotes the tour. Touring revenues for most artists dwarf their album sales (streaming or physical). interesting factoid.. it is mostly younger folks who buy the vinyl and most of the vinyl records they purchase are from past recordings. I have a close friend who owns a record store and what flies off his shelf every time he gets it in... Ramones, Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Nirvana, and Led Zeppelin.

As you mentioned in a previous post, it is extremely difficult these days for Artists / Bands to make a good living in that business anymore on the scale there used to be..
I think the Industry turned on a Dime with the introduction of CD's and especially Internet Uploads / Downloads..... Growing up, the local Record shops were like the center of our worlds for my peers & myself... It was also a great place to meet other musicians... I can remember spending hours in the Record Shop, with enough money to buy 1 album --- and struggling to decide which one of the many many great choices to go home with... The Vinyl recordings sounded better to me as well... With all their little imperfections, it was a truer sound... THe Artwork on the Albums was also incredible & iconic... The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers album with the Zipper on the front was such an example... You'd also often get a band Poster or Photo Booklet inside the Album... I think something really important was lost when so many New Record shops began to disappear from our lives..

CD's changed it but the real game changer was the Internet, Napster, and streaming. Most artists do not make any substantial revenues via streaming. As to why Taylor Swift succeeds on that front.. it is a bit too involved for a discussion forum like this. Just know that she herself (not management, not record executives) is at the root of her amazing success in the streaming arena.
another aspect to the touring game that makes it expensive is that the not-so-savvy artists get screwed on merchandise sales. Venues take a cut where they used to not.

I am truly at a loss to understand why people go to concerts. While I've seen some good bands in small nightclubs and have enjoyed that, I just don't get the allure of concerts. On the rare occasion that I do attend a show now it's more because I want to hear the music. The last show I saw live was Keb Mo' at the old Ryman downtown Nashville somewhere around 2010 or so if that's tell you anything. Lol

Everyone differs because music is about as subjective as something can be. However, most of the groups that I like do not play in small nightclubs especially not in Northern Nevada. So if I want to see them live in concert.. generally you have to go to the larger arenas (in my case.. mostly not in Northern Nevada). I view the crowd as a necessary evil much like the weather when you go fishing. Do I like the large crowds? Not really. However, if I want to see xyz band, it just comes with the territory. As to why I want to see them live and not just listen to it on vinyl, cd, or streaming? It comes down to hearing the pure, unpolished version of a song, experiencing them as people, and hearing a diverse array of songs. I differ from most in that I do not drink beer or consume food at shows. Both are so overpriced as to make it pointless. $12 for a light beer.. yeah not happening. If I need a beer so bad, I will just drink one after the show.

One of the best small-club acts I saw was Dick Dale. I was supposed to see GG Allin in the early '90's, but as I was approaching the club, freaking people were running out of the club and cops were about to shut it down, so we got out of there. I hadn't even heard of the guy, just someone my brother wanted to go see.

Been to 150 or more since 1997.. the only one that I have been to that involved cops was Marilyn Manson. The cops were there because there was rumors of conflict between the younger folks and religious folks. Nothing came of it. I simply went for shock value. Honestly, kinda sucked.

however, to get back to the point.. there is a limit to how much I will spend. Taylor Swift's concert tickets average at about $1000. Way too rich for my blood. Most that I ever paid was $190 but that was to see a band that had not toured in 12 years and may never do it again. This was why I went to NYC. Typically, it needs to be between $40 and $80 and not demand more than a few hours drive. Typically, dovetail it with something else such as camping, climbing a peak, or so.
