I think the most I ever paid to watch an act was $60 - and I believe that was to see Dick Dale. I liked to see more obscure bands. Even some '90's swing bands - some were really great. Everybody that has that one thing that they are willing to overspend on when they probably should not. My sister's vice is dogs. She will spend $5000 on a "papered" english bulldog or whatever. My older brother's vice is early 70's muscle cars. Mine just happens to be concerts and vintage vinyl records.

Some Bands made the bulk of their money off of Touring ---- The Grateful Dead & KISS are great examples... Others such as Pink Floyd rarely if ever turned a profit from Tours... another aspect to the touring game that makes it expensive is that the not-so-savvy artists get screwed on merchandise sales. Venues take a cut where they used to not.

Brian Stelter of the Stray Cats used to tour with his own Big Swing Band production.... I caught one of his shows, it was a blast... that really really is not the best picture of swift. I have seen better pictures of her at the games.

why? I was just saying the look she created for that photo on the cover was looking like.
