Ok, so the question is what separates Taylor Swift from Diner Drugs (random stoner rock band from Canada). First, she is the daughter of a record executive. So she did not have quite the learning curve. Second, she has no middle men in the merchandise sales. The people who process the transactions at a venue are her employees. Third, she gets very significant revenues from streaming where others do not. Why? Its quite technical but in short.. one's spotify account and other things are connected by your email address. So what a person thinks is a random spotify-generated playlist is not. Fourth, in terms of touring she gets a higher proportion of the revenues than other artists because she is the manager.
