I consider Trump un-electable due to the overwhelming effort by Democrats to portray him in a negative light, the weaponization of government to harass and prosecute him, and the inevitable solution that will occur if these non-lethal efforts fail.

Maybe the dimocrats portraying Trump in a negative light will make him more electable. It worked last time. I like Desantis also. I think he would be a great choice.

he could win but his stance on abortion won't get any democrat votes.
and some/many democrats would like a canditate other than biden, and not crazy over the woke crap either.

I am as happy with him as a governor as you are, but I am also about ten times as politically astute as you are - and I know what he did.
That debate opportunity he gave gavin newsome was newsome's coming out party. Newsome has now successfully alerted the democrat base to be ready for him to step into the breach when joe biden - in a great surprise to no one and to the relief of all - decides he actually IS unfit to run. Thanks to DeSantis playing ball with the democ rat establishment, Newsome can avoid a primary and the oppo research that comes with it. He can enter the race completely undamaged by a primary.
DeSantis is the John McCain of this era. He LOOKS sorta presidential and mavericky, but he will never hold the office. He MIGHT one day be allowed to win the nomination - but never the office.
He's a lightweight in lifts.
