1.  One stand was the article you linked to was the opinion of two law scholars who happened to members of the Federalist Society.  Not the opinion of the Federalist Society itself.  That was linked and sourced by the where the paper was published and the Federalist Society itself.

After a conviction is when a person shouldn't be allowed on a ballot. Not before. Not even Trump.

the Secretary of State now says she will allow Trump on the primary ballot.  Why does she get to decide?

States can do a lot of things.  The question is, will they get away with it.

Because the court knew their ruling was bad, and immediately stayed their own ruling, meaning it's not in effect. 
Therefore the Secretary of State oversees the primary ballots, and she has to allow Trump on because he qualified in their state.
