By the same token a brass instrument called the Baritone has a deep rich mellow tone and it plays just like a trumpet and so I think it sounds much nicer overall.

I liked the generation that dressed like gentlemen. The Tijuana Brass was of a later time, when people just showed up wearing what they wanted. Too often the trumpeteer / band leader is more interested in "showing off" how extreme he can make that instrument sound than he is simply making it sound pretty.

I've always thought of the Sax as the "Big Jungle Cat" with the musical growl.
A well rounded Sax Player needs to be able to transpose treble clef sheet music to base clef in his head...and visa versa.

It really is a trip to be able to fill up an auditorium with such a great sound and with much less physical effort than with the trumpet.
