Former White House officials such as Kayleigh McEnany and Pat Cipollone said Trump was holed up in the dining room next to the Oval Office as the attack unfolded. According to Cipollone, who served as White House counsel, images of the violence unfolding were on the screen as Trump watched.Other officials said Trump did not move to the Oval Office or the Situation room to coordinate a response. On the one year anniversary of the attack, former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham told CNN that Trump "gleefully" watched his supporters storm the Capitol."All I know about that day was that he was in the dining room, gleefully watching on his TV as he often did, 'look at all of the people fighting for me,' hitting rewind, watching it again — that's what I know," Grisham told CNN's "New Day."

The congressional committee investigating the January 6 riots on Thursday presented more evidence accusing former US President Donald Trump of deliberately choosing not to act as his supporters ransacked the US Capitol and threatened lawmakers with violence. In what is likely the final hearing until September, the committee documented the time frame from when Trump sent his supporters to the Capitol after a "stop the steal" rally, to when the president appeared in a video in front of the White House telling the mob to disperse, while praising them as "very special," some 187 minutes later.

Those dopes that raided the Capitol made terrible choices.
They're adults and they're responsible for their actions.

Because they were Trump supporters it was an opportunity to blame Trump.

But he told them to march peacefully.

But it's still Trump's fault when they didn't?

That's the problem with your stance on this.

that whole peaceful **** was proven to be just crap. the minute they  were not peaceful trump should have stopped them but he really  did not want them to be peaceful  and they knew it.

Can you blame the politician that said "protest peacefully"?

That's the question that the Trump haters ignore
what you ignore is the fact that trump  enjoyed the whole thing and was pleased at what they  did and  thanked them aftewards and said they were special for everything they did.

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney says the committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riots has "firsthand testimony" that Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka, was among those who attempted to persuade the then-president to condemn the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.Speaking to ABC News' This Week on Sunday, 55-year-old Cheney said the commission has testimony that Trump, 75, was "sitting in the dining room next to the Oval Office, watching the attack. The briefing room at the White House is a mere few steps from the Oval Office.""We know as [Trump] was sitting there in the dining room, next to the Oval Office, members of his staff were pleading with him to go on television to tell people to stop," Cheney, vice chair of the committee, added. "We know [Republican] Leader [Kevin] McCarthy was pleading with him to do that. We know his daughter — we have firsthand testimony — that his daughter Ivanka went in at least twice to ask him to please stop this violence."

he committee has firsthand testimony now that he was sitting in the dining room next to the Oval Office watching the attack on television as the assault on the Capitol occurred," Cheney told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos. She added that Trump "could have easily" walked the few steps to the White House briefing room to tell the rioters to stand down and go home. His failure to do so, Cheney said, represented "a dereliction of duty." "We know, as he was sitting there in the dining room next to the Oval Office, members of his staff were pleading with him to go on television to tell people to stop," Cheney said. "We know Leader McCarthy was pleading with him to do that. We know members of his family, we know his daughter — we have firsthand testimony that his daughter Ivanka went in at least twice to ask him to please stop this violence." Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker wrote in their book "I Alone Can Fix It" that Ivanka, a senior advisor in the White House, spent "several hours walking back and forth" from her office to the Oval Office trying to get her father to intervene. Mark Meadows, the former White House chief of staff who is resisting the committee's subpoena to testify, told Ivanka, "I need you to come back down here," the book said.He said, "We've got to get this under control," the authors wrote.

Here is a poll from the newspaper in the state capitol:

https://www.centralmaine.com/2023/12/29 ... ry-ballot/

dead even. 50/50, which bodes poorly for the clown. fully half the respondents don't even want him to be ON the ballot, and there are plenty of people, like @sooted up Cyndi  pointed out, who are democrats and will NOT vote FOR him, but still think removing him from the ballot is a bad decision.  Angus King and Jared Golden are against his removal but they are solid Biden voters.
