According to the latest polls, Nikki Haiey only trials Trump by 4 points in the early primary state. I probably would vote for Haley if I were a Republican given she was Trump's ambassador to the United Nations and isn't just trying to woo Trump supporters. I think that has been a good strategy. She does hold more mainstream Republican views also which is a relief from the chaotic viewpoints of Trump who has a limited worldview in my opinion although he was President for four years.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.

The problem with voting third party in hopes of changing the current two party duopoly is that folks care more about the chance of winning than principles or ideas. To vote and have your candidate only get 4% of the vote and be inconsequential deters most folks.

It's called amnesty. The government granted a lot of it after the Civil War since technically the South committed treason against the United States. Worse than Trump but there are a lot of examples across the globe of the same issue. It's also one of the main reasons a President has pardon power. Politics can lead to laws being skirted.
