Yes, that is beevee's bread and butter. He and that rodent brought a few others with them when they first arrived on these shores as debutantes. I distinctly remember one of the loons being openly offended by "closed-end questions." The very idea of being asked to plant his dainty feet and defend a thesis was not just anathema: it was rude. What you are calling Marxism sounds one hell of a lot like democracy, to me. The little guy running things. The big guys kept in check by their mighty ballots. Someone somewhere said that who votes counts less than does who counts those votes. Corruption is a constant, and isms are not immune.

This planet literally is powered by corruption. Everything upon it is taken into it and transformed into another thing - and the method by which this absorption occurs is corruption. We breathe a flammable, explosive, corrosive gas, without which we will die. And that same gas is burning and exploding and rusting and consuming everything that we build, ongoingly. The only constant is change, and its handmaiden is corruption.
Any ism built to end corruption must fail. Otherwise, corruption fails - and the world ends.

It is rather silly to believe that hitler COULD have lowered german wages. They were utterly **** when he came to power. They loved him because he made their lives better - not because he made serfs of them. I understand that we live in a corrupt world . And I accept that - even embrace it. I eat corrupted cheese. I put corruption in my bread, in my compost, in my mouth. I feed it to my chickens. Wine is corrupt - otherwise it's just grape juice. Beer is but slurry without corruption.
The great puzzle is to manage corruption - not eradicate it. To pretend it can be eradicated is to pretend you live on some other planet that DOESN'T require corruption for survival. No ****, no grass - no grass, no cow - no cow, no dinner.
I trust free enterprise to do a better job than any ism - and I trust racial unity to be a civilizing force within governments. That is why I favor the nation state, and it is why I believe your view that pygmies and watusis and norwegians and irishmen and chinese and peruvians all thoroughly comingled will produce shangrila is as unlikely as it is untried.
By the way, as a minor aside...there is one point where Harvey was right (but it still doesn't help his case).
Average wages were indeed lower under Hitler than they were prior. However, this is more of a statistical fluke than an indictment. When a third of your workforce is unemployed, typically it's the lower wage / marginal workers who get the shaft.
Yes, the rich and wealthy suffer too in a depression, but they aren't out on the streets begging for necessities. They just had to live with 5 properties instead of 15 or 25.
When you re-integrate workers and give them jobs again, the average wage will decrease but the total aggregate output will increase. It's not like wages for already employed workers went down - rather, the denominator (# of workers) went up and the wages of those re-integrated were not as high as the previous average, making it seem like Hitler suppressed wages.
