Wrong. What you see today - TRANNY culture (as @Cannonpointer would say), feminism, drug addiction as a lifestyle, legalization of petty crime(s), glorifying "DIEversity," etc. - is a CELEBRATION of individualism and a repudiation of a nation's "collective" identity. Those policies are the very rejection of capitalism, with the intent of centralizing authority within the government, and DO NOT believe in individualism of its citizens. Socialist want "equity" for the worst dregs of society to receive the same benefits as those hardest working citizens, who understandably become infuriated to see it.
So you think it's capitalism that's turned San Francisco and other cities in CA into streets that are open-air sewers with open drug use on every street or did they result from socialist policies? Is it capitalism that initiated rent control policies that forced an apartment building owner to operate his building at a loss every year until they walk away from that albatross and let it become a haven for squatters and drug addicts or are those policies socialist?LowIQTrash » 08 Jan 2024, 11:08 am » wrote: ↑ San Francisco is a tech hub with thousands of startups backed up by venture capital / angel investor seed money. Norway killer Breivik tests limits of lenient justice system
BY MARK LEWIS January 21, 2022 , Norway (AP) — Convicted mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik spends his days in a spacious three-room cell, playing video games, exercising, watching TV and taking university-level courses in mathematics and business.Halfway through a 21-year sentence and seeking early release, Breivik, 42, is being treated in a way that might seem shocking to people outside of Norway, where he killed eight in an Oslo bombing in 2011, and then stalked and gunned down 69 people, mostly teens, at a summer camp. But here — no matter how wicked the crime — convicts benefit from a criminal justice system that is designed to offer prisoners some of the comforts and opportunities of life on the outside.

Once again, I am not disputing that those policies are detrimental.Isn't NY now facing a crisis of low-level crime due to their efforts to decriminalize shoplifting, institute no-bail laws, and refuse to prosecute repeat criminals? And aren't those the exact conditions that resulted in tens of thousands of hard-working people fleeing states like theirs as their taxes keep rising and their fundamental services and safety keep deteriorating? Do you really believe those socialist policies are sustainable long-term?
I don't agree with their sky-high tax rates. That's why I don't live there. (Also because the weather there sucks...might as well live in Sicily or Greece instead)So tell me how you think it's worthwhile to pay tax rates of up to 80% to Scandinavian governments and still see crime skyrocketing?
Or are you unaware of how a country like Sweden is now using their military to fight rampant gang violence?

It's SOCIALIST POLITICIANS that have allowed major US cities to engage in the policies that have destroyed those cities and nothing else! You're happy to claim how limited EBT funding is for free food but fail to expand on how those same socialist benefits also give them free healthcare, free education, and subsidized housing that every hard working citizen has to pay for himself. Is it Republican/Conservative principles that pay illegals thousands of dollars every month to give THEM free healthcare while working citizens pay through the nose for such healthcare? Or puts them up in luxury hotels while homeless vets sleep on the street? Are they Republican/Conservative policies that now give criminals the OK to rob and loot stores up to $950 and be charged with nothing but a misdemeanor no matter how many times they're caught? Are they capitalist policies in a city like Chicago that are overrun with gangs and gun violence while their idiot politicians rant against an AR15 ownership when handguns are the overwhelming choice for criminals?
Libertarian preferences for open borders ARE NOT CAPITALISTS! They are the brainless Pollyannas of a group that believes they're living in Candy Land and utopia would exist if only complete freedom to do anything they wish existed. What they support in reality is the anarchy which would certainly result if their wishes were realized. And ANY libertarian who advocates for open borders is certainly no friend of mine and rarely a friend of most other Americans who recognize the need for a limited amount of government which includes a strong border and prosecuting criminals for their crimes.

Socialists like you can never accept the fact that these policies inevitably remove the incentive for hard work and self-determination. The destruction is assured when the hardest working Americans see that their ever-rising taxation continues and even expands the funding of those who choose not to work, have kids they can't support, the extreme failures of urban schools when students know they'll be promoted without fundamental scholastic skills, minimum wage laws that force employers to pay exorbitant wages to barely literate workers, union laws that encourage minimum levels of competence, and leniency of laws that encourage law-breaking by career criminals, and much more.
Higher standards and a return to meritocracy in capitalism are the only things that will reverse the trend for these cities and in this country.
I encourage you to read this parable which provides the most basic understanding of why socialism has failed EVERY TIME IT'S TRIED:
Wall street sucks the government teat much more than do the welfare leaches, fruitcake.Zeets2 » 08 Jan 2024, 1:03 pm » wrote: ↑ ****!

However, throughout their respective socialist experiments, workers' lives in the U.S.S.R., the GDR, and other former socialist societies improved immensely. Average life expectancy in the Soviet Union, for example, went from 32 years in 1917 to 68 years by 1975.
Poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, homelessness, and other social ills were virtually and easily eliminated in socialist societies. I say "easily" because those pathologies are all but effortlessly eliminated when doing so becomes a governmental priority, unlike in the U.S.
Interestingly, the lives of American workers also improved because of the Bolshevik Revolution. The progressive achievements won by Soviet workers pressured the U.S. capitalist state to concede reforms for American workers. Reforms including homeownership, desegregation, investments in education, public healthcare, etc.
Concerning homeownership, in a 1917 Washington Post op-ed, New York financier and banker Simon Straus wrote, "Widespread and successful homeowning activities in the U.S. would do more to alleviate social unrest and build a bulwark against the encroachments of Bolshevism than any other development."
The Labor Department then initiated its Own Your Own Home program, later led by Herbert Hoover, which provided liquidity for banks toward the expansion of home loans. In 1933, the New Deal's "Home Owners' Loan Corporation was launched, which granted home loans to workers, making homeownership far more accessible and committing workers psychologically to capitalism.
In response to Sputnik and the education gap between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R., the U.S. enacted 1958's National Defense Education Act, which made low-interest student loans, augmenting higher education. While noting the program's success, the late U.S. Senator Stewart McClure said, "I think if there was one thing I did during my work on the hill, it was to focus attention on the opportunity that Sputnik gave all of us who had been struggling for decades to establish a federal program of monetary aid to public education."
But with the dissolution of the U.S.S.R. and, therefore, the elimination of a countervailing system, the U.S. capitalist state began to claw back New Deal programs and other social reforms. Capitalism is, again, free to be as mean as it needs to be.
