Not a bad thing for the forum either way. I just enjoy trying to figure out who is playing who is all. Believe it or not, there were people on the .org site when I found that place that I had posted with 15 plus years earlier at on other forums. I've "known" Benson13 for going on 20 years now for example. That's just crazy to me.

Not a bad thing for the forum either way. I just enjoy trying to figure out who is playing who is all. not one has stuck around after checking it out
they just can’t take it
I can’t even get other boards to have a “pissing contest” forum to let people go after each other without being policed heavily
this board is far and away the best microcosm of America
most people can’t face facts

It was a political subforum in the chat room section on the homepage of BellSouth before it became AT&T, and I think BellSouth had forgotten it even existed. There was a "report abuse" button that never was answered so everyone just went nuts. It was the "Government & Politics" forum, and everyone just called it the G&P.
A small group of about 20 or 30 regulars formed on it and it was truly the wild West of internet forums for about two years until AT&T absorbed BellSouth and eventually shut it down. Good times for sure.
This place reminds me a lot of that place, as did the .org site when it was around.
It wouldn't surprise me at all to find that a few folks on this site today were old BellSouth refugees even. Lol

I found this through a search engine after getting the boot from another "liberal" forum. I just search for liberal forums. But I think I agree with you. I hate policing like that. It's where I part ways with my brethren. I always hated library book censorship, and I hate it in speech.

Yahoo Answers was like that. It shut down spring 2021. The high post users were mostly the mods. They could move topics to a basement of sorts. If enough users reported a post, then it was ghosted. They did have mods in Malaysia (I got a few emails from them), but I don't think they cared. It was really too bad because there were some useful sub-forums. The politics sub-forum was garbage, of course, but there were other sub-forums quite practical. There were things like home schooling, gardening, cooking, and a few hobby discussions.
