I was never on that forum. I started out discussing politics one a forum run by this Atheist Limey, who let things go a bit, but then tended to over-moderate, especially if you attacked atheists or were super pro-2A. It was a political subforum in the chat room section on the homepage of BellSouth before it became AT&T, and I think BellSouth had forgotten it even existed. There was a "report abuse" button that never was answered so everyone just went nuts. It was the "Government & Politics" forum, and everyone just called it the G&P.
A small group of about 20 or 30 regulars formed on it and it was truly the wild West of internet forums for about two years until AT&T absorbed BellSouth and eventually shut it down. Good times for sure.
This place reminds me a lot of that place, as did the .org site when it was around.
It wouldn't surprise me at all to find that a few folks on this site today were old BellSouth refugees even. Lol
