It only says they can't be arrested during their attendance of their respective house.
Now in light of the breach of peace which was Jan 6th there involvement in jan 6th is treason for a house member to be involved.

Seeing to it that the Protestors had enough flag poles, cans of pepper spray and pocket knives to overthrow the US Government with is treason too...?

The Republicans are scared to have hunter testify in public. They can't paint it in a bad light if it's in public. The Republicans use disinformation as a tool to paint things in a bad light.

But let us grant YOUR interpretation. Why were THEY not arrested, unless they were in fact immune to those subpoenas as they claim, when others HAVE been arrested before and since that episode? Why IS that, do you suppose, if NOT because their interpretation is correct under the law?

By the way, I have never heard of this clause being used in this context, and I do not have a dog in this fight. I am just curious to know why they were NOT arrested, in your opinion, if their position was incorrect?

It is quite common to question people behind closed doors before having the public hearing, in order to avoid having things with national security implications blurted out in front of the cameras.
Biden is going to be asked questions pertaining to China, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine - the four countries where he had questionable business dealings. Why do you want chinese and russians listening in on something like that?
