The libertarians I see are out of touch with reality.  They want to dismantle social security, medicare, government insured bank accounts, Civil Rights Laws, clean air, and water regulations.

I'm a Libertarian and I challenge you to find a single post of mine where I have advocated for the dismantling of any of the things you've stated.

You can't, because I haven't.

Not posting it doesn't mean it's not true. 

Conversely, if you're in agreement with some of that, then you're not libertarian.
