Let's see what one of those talking heads says from the Fed:

"March is probably too early in my estimation for a rate decline because I think we need to see some more evidence," Cleveland Federal Reserve President Loretta Mester said Thursday in an interview with Bloomberg TV.

Her remarks followed a report released Thursday morning that showed the Consumer Price Index came in stronger than expected in December. CPI rose at an annualized rate of 3.4% in December, up from a 3.1% year-over-year rate in November. Economists had expected it to come in at 3.2%, according to consensus estimates from Dow Jones.

"The December CPI report just shows there is more work to do and that work is going to take restrictive monetary policy," Mester said.


The current pain a lot of people are experiencing isn't going away any time soon.

I am not digging, *******!!!  You obviously do not understand how consumer spending and the related debt work.  Sure, retail spending was up in 2023 but it was driven by an increase in consumer debt to finance that spending which is not the same as a booming economy.

Why are middle and working class people saying they are worse off under braindead biden's bidenflation and indicators prove that real incomes are down?

• Real median earnings declined by 2.2 percent over the same period.
• Real median post-tax income was down 8.8 percent relative to 2021.

The Bottom Line:Bidenomics is not working for the American people. Persistent high inflation, record spending, failed economic policies, regulations, and a slew of new taxes have eaten away at the well-being of the American people. Congress needs to cut red-tape, right-size the bloated bureaucracy and rein-in reckless spending to Reverse The Curse and get the economy and people’s wallets growing again.

When inflation causes prices to increase dramatically and people make huge cuts in purchasing large ticket items like housing, electronics, appliances, cars, and furniture, because the prices are now too high to be able for them to afford, they certainly have enough money remaining to be able to a hamburger at McDonalds or a beer at their local bar (a category where spending increased by a whopping 1.5%) for those two kinds of purchases you seem to be SO proud of!
