Pretending to believe that, I would say, "Be sure to thank the survivors for me." It would not change my position.

As it happens, I see ISIS as a U,S,/Israeli/Saudi proxy, and I do not believe that we had any side mission to destroy ISIS. As to our PRIMARY mission, that was unequivocally unlawful Regime Change. 

ISIS was fighting Assad, by the way.   

Don't get me wrong - I DO believe the Kurds were in fact fighting our proxy. But their primary mission was against the Syrian government. What they did against ISIS was off the reservation. But ISIS had been raping their women and drinking their wine, so once they got some guns it was go time.
