Do you think 7% interest rates might be a problem with idiot?

The residential real estate market tumbled in 2023, as soaring interest rates steadily slowed sales activity — but home prices still hit a record high. The median home sale price in 2023 was $389,800, up about 1% from 2022 and the highest on record, according to data from the National Association of Realtors released Friday. That is good news for the 85 million homeowning households that enjoyed further gains in housing wealth, said Lawrence Yun, chief economist at NAR. However, it proved to be a maddening market for new homebuyers, who were priced out by rising prices and, for much of the year, surging mortgage rates that made this the least affordable market in decades.

look at the graft. home prices and dow follow each other. wiggle around each other. home prices and dow both follow average incomes. some what. what is difference in family incomes is the percentages of line items. percentage spent on food over the past 70 years has declined. while phones, tv and internet services have gobbled up discretionary incomes. problem with home prices is government regulations. allow people to build their homes with out permits, and the cost drops by over 60%. dragging down existing home prices. people would build better homes, if their were no permits required. less cost, better quality that could be afforded. what a economic housing boom, if government stopped interfering.

love the good old days. gravel roads, no side walks, septic systems (rather that sewer pipes dumping filth into rivers), wood stoves and so on.  and low property taxes. i love doing things. not laying on a sofa and watching tv. humans are evolving. fat. lazy. that is what they want. problem: they want me to stop doing anything without paying for a permit, to get their stinking government's approval.
