The area I live was a nice quiet DIVERSIFIED upper middle class area with woods and and fields. Now, the woods and fields are gone and apartment buildings have taken their place. All in less than 8 years.

Now that we have established that indeed Obama implemented policy to build more "affordable" housing I will tell you that in a 8 mile stretch of road there have been at least 8 new apartment complexes, townhouse complexes and duplex areas (like you live in) built on US 17 from Carrolton to Bennett's Creek in the past 7 years.

There really aren't many open spaces left in the USA for developers to build large single family housing tracts.
Not without waiting for nearby industry and job opportunities to lead the way to housing demand.
Nature hates a vacuum and so do the laws of economics.
Right now there is a trend to change the zoning so that single family homes can be torn down and replaced with multi-family units.
Funny how there's so much opposition to this even though it seems to be a "Green Solution".
Wanna bet there are plenty of virtue signaling, phoney baloney "Green Party Liberals" who don't want to see their neighborhoods converted to "Renter's Ghettos" anytime soon...?
