Consider what you were being told to believe in the spring of 2020...

This is 2024.  You need to live in the present.

But I recall being told in the SPRING that I need to wear a mask, stay home from work, social distance, catch COVID outside, limit the amount of people who could visit my house, etc etc etc.

I also remember when COVID started I was told there was nothing to worry about, it was ok to go to Chinatown and hug people, etc etc etc. 

But enough with old times and inaccurate instructions.

• Current index: The consumer price index, or CPI, rose 0.3% in December after increasing 0.1% in November. The year-over-year increase was 3.4%.

The CPI measures the change in prices paid by U.S. consumers for everyday goods and services, like groceries, gas and rent. It’s calculated by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and tracks real-world impacts of inflation on consumers. Every month, the BLS releases updated CPI data, showing monthly and annual changes in average prices.The most recent CPI report, released on Jan. 11, showed the index increased by 0.3% between November and December, and grew by 3.4% over the past 12 months
The current CPI report also found:

• The cost of shelter rose 0.5% in December and was a major contributor to the rise in CPI this month. The shelter index is up 6.2% from the same time a year ago.
• Higher prices for electricity and gasoline contributed to a 0.4% rise in the energy index in December. Over the past year, the energy index decreased 2%.
• Food costs rose 0.2% in December. Prices for groceries (+0.1%) and restaurants (+0.3%) were both higher.

At the moment I am perusing CNN and watching the video of the Russia plane crash.  According to CNN the Russians say it 65 Ukraine POWS were on board and the Ukrainians say missile were on board.
