    Both....   there were in fact Palestinian Civilians who participated in the October 7th attack/massacre on Israel....
   There were 3 waves of infiltrators that day..... There were the Hamas Militants came across the breached portion of the border in cars, trucks vehicles & motorcycles --- another group of Hamas fighters arrived by air in Ultra Light Planes ---- and the 3rd group was a mix of Hamas members along with civilian supporters who crossed into Israel on foot.... These Civilians were involved in looting, burning of village homes, rape & kidnapping... Some of these Palestinian civilians were women and children... There is video evidence of this. 

    And now we are learning that 12 Palestinian UNRWA Workers (and counting) were just fired for being involved in the October 7th attack...

Those civilian supporters only represent a handful. We can't take a minuscule amount of civilians that participated and generalize it to target all civilians.

             I didn't say all Gazans supported Hamas --- but clearly up until the IDF rode into the Strip, huge numbers of them did... We all saw the images of them filling the streets and celebrating on October 7th, as the Hamas fighters returned with their Hostages... We also saw the dead body of the young German/Israeli girl Shani Louk dead (or dying) face down in the back of a pickup truck, with a Gazan boy leaning into it and spitting on her.... 

             While I agree in your assessment the initial stated goals & actions of Hamas did a 180 shortly after being elected to power by the people of Gaza, I think you're mistaken to suggest at that moment the Gazans became held against their will to forcefully support Hamas -- elections or not.. Now, my own opinion is there most likely has been some shift and loss of support for Hamas since the War has been brought to their own neighborhoods ----- and especially since it is clearly a deliberate tactic of Hamas to shield their Fighters, weaponry, combat infrastructure, and military operations from behind their civilian population... 

             All civilians are not being targeted by the IDF... If this were the case, the majority of Gaza's population of 2 Million would already be dead  --- not just 20,000 of them. The ICJ concluded there is no Genocide, and no Targeting of Civilians....  Israel was advised to take steps to avoid civilian deaths... They weren't even told to halt military operations in Gaza.
