Still, I agree with the sentiment so there's no need to exaggerate.

We had a belief in a more noble reason for being that fueled us as a country.
Whether it was real or not, the perception was that we could do good in the world.
I, like you and others, have come to realize we have squandered that internationally and worse, domestically.

Seeing our leaders popped in and out for political expediency as though chosen from a template has sickened me.
Good or bad, Trump was a bit of an outlier. Good IMO simply because he wasn't from the template per se.
Anyway, that avenue has been pretty much squashed.

We will, chances are, get yet another template person. The hundreds of "bases" will continue to police our goodly empire no matter the cost to our image or treasury. Unless...

I am not doing that at all. I am accusing your opinion of being dismissive of the evil.
