When some of the **** has mercury and plutonium in it and some of the **** just has beans and corn, they ARE both ****. But we handle them differently. One is fertilizer and one is hazmat.
Lumping fertilizer and hazmat together as a single problem is what I will not desist in objecting to.

I don't know if there's a point in many peoples' lives when they realize our government is filled with the same people we meet in every day life. Those weird neighbors that nobody likes, the surly asshole at the hardware store, the odd uncle with "the hands", the prick who became a cop, the moron that drives **** wrong, the obnoxious drunks, etc. etc.
THOSE are the people we are supposed to trust to keep an eye on things. Like the **** CIA among others.
There's no special brain implant to being a politician or a bad boss (same type of thing).
There's also no reason to believe any other country doesn't suffer the same problem: Human politicians.

I speculated from the standpoint of my circumstance having realized long ago that the very people I know get elected, promoted, called upon to make decisions, etc. I grew up past some naivety watching people "do what they had to do" to stay employed, in the money, get re-elected...
I have friends and relatives in some of those "positions" that I am not sure I'd let house sit for me for a single weekend. These were the folks to whom I found as a good base to judge our government. It was merely a food-for-thought post. Didn't need this long term thread ****.
