Nope. it doesn't. I have always maintained that Trump believes to be above the law. That's why I never voted for him. I won't vote for him in 2024. I refuse to vote for any candidate who believes they are above the law. That includes Biden. Clearly, according to history, most presidents (if not all) have always been treated as they are above the law.

I don't believe that Joe Biden believes the he is above the law.  I know of no instance where he has ever even alluded to that position, let alone stated it outright.  On the other hand, Trump is on record in a court of law as having made that exact argument.  That alone is enough for me to vote against him to ensure such a dictator-in-waiting does not EVER again get control of the executive branch.

Let me ask you:  Trump's lawyers, when asked if he could be criminally charged with sending Seal Team SIx to assassinate his political rivals, responded that he would be liable for prosecution only if the House impeached, and the Senate convicted him of the articles of impeachment first.  There position is that a sitting president can do ANYTHING he wants to do, that he is literally above all criminal laws until the political impeachment process takes him off that high perch.  Does that make ANY sense to you?

The appeals court has set up a very fast schedule for Donald Trump to appeal their ruling rejecting his claims of immunity from criminal prosecution.

 The court is giving Trump until February 12 to file an emergency stay request with the Supreme Court, which would stop the clock while his attorneys craft a more substantive appeal on the merits. If he is successful with that, the criminal trial will not resume until after the high court decides what to do with his request for a pause.

Except he has a legal right to request an en banc hearing with this court before he considers an appeal (assuming he loses the en banc decision) to the Supreme Court.
