You're probably right.  So, why wait until they are completely coordinated to exterminate us.  Kill them first, and catch them off guard.  We will still die, but maybe we can kill a bunch more of them first.

Oh, I'd agree that they must be using some "cheat" or porthole to get here.   There's no way they are traveling linearly like we do from even the nearest star. That's also true if you are just randomly looking for signs of life.  But, if the Ant People of Alpha Centauri light of a bunch of nukes, and we have sensitive nuke detectors in space, well - "we found you"!

The "we found you" could have happened 50 years ago, true.
But they'd be 50 light-years away. At least.
Maybe they answered back immediately and we'll know that any minute now...

I know Alpha Centauri is a mere 4.2 light years away. They would have already answered our radio waves many decades ago if anyone was there to do so.
That's the Christmas tree lights thing: We aren't technologically matched in time. Our blink didn't match theirs...

So you would wage war against something the is technologically far superior to humans?  You would willingly take the risk that they have simply chosen not to use their technology and, probably, superior weapons against us?  Seems like the definition of world class stupid.

Then it stands good reason that they intend to plant new "beings" here to replace us. Good enough reason for me to kill them.  Look, they are not humans, so its not murder.  At worst, its just hunting without a license.  And, they aren't exactly a protected or endangered species. They aren't on any GOVERNMENT LIST as such.

Technology gets invented to defeat natural time. Thing is, intellectual ways to defeat natural time are to educate the human brain to never accept natural time for all it does in plain sight, like naturally eternally separates ancestral population living forward now. That comes from within the ancestral population left alive now and most likely those never becoming parents or their children died never adding grandchildren the original parents outlived their additions.

The thing about aliens is that they are.. alien.. you can't apply human reasoning/emotions to them.. maybe there's no one there but maybe they simply don't care about answering us or maybe they are preparing an invasion fleet and don't want to let us know they're out there..

My alien gives out chocolate easter eggs but most of them probably aren't that nice..

That's another thing about aliens, who says they have DNA, maybe they are hermaphrodites or part of a hive mind that doesn't evolve, maybe now is eternity and the rule of 72 wouldn't apply to them..
