Always remember one thing - the Police never, never, never protect anyone.  They investigate crimes after they occur.  This is why, WE THE PEOPLE must always be armed and ready to protect ourselves.

1.  How have I "made excuses for why you own guns"?  I don't even know if you own a gun or not.
2.  Being a gun enthusiast is "faulty reasoning" for what, exactly?

Sorry I miswrote that. The forum is only something I check into every once in a while. I'm usually busy with other things. I meant to say Why YOU buy guns. Second person there, not first. The reasoning is faulty because there is a plethora of evidence that police use force to diffuse situations. Have you ever seen cops? Have you ever heard of police taking out a mass shooter?

   I saw video of almif. 400 officers shaking in Uvalde until a few said **** this and went in.
But a guy with a gun (can't remember his nane for the life of me)stopped a mass shooter at a mall from 40 yards away with a G19.

I remember the mall one.  Cops took down the Nashville school shooter.

Have I ever seen cops?  Yes I have.  But, I have never seen them diffuse a deadly situation.
Have I been in the middle of a Race Riot?  Yes, just as it broke out - ended inside of 10 minutes.  Started with 4 White girls being dragged out of the back of a pick-up truck by blacks.  White guys jumped the blacks and beat them bloody with ax handles - turned into an race-riot frenzy in seconds.  Cops?  Nowhere to be found.  Not before.  Not after.  Never a cop in sight.  The incident was never even reported in the press.  I was with a date going to go watch 4th of July fireworks when the riot broke out.  I was armed - stayed inside of my locked car with my date.  Didn't have to use the gun.

I can rattle off other times that cops were nowhere to be found when I've had situations with nefarious assholes. The bottom line - The Police do not protect individuals.  Not during riots.  Not during looting.  Not during natural disasters.  Almost never.

Well obviously that must be terrifying. I see your point too. Just remember I've been in situations where the police were on first call. Therefore I see why you're armed but also have the broader perspective.

It was a freaky situation.  BTW, the gun I had at that time  - - let's just say it would have been 50/50 if it would even have worked.   Oh, and from that day forward, no more "Israeli Cary" for me (Israeli Cary is carrying a semi-auto without a round in the chamber - sure fire way to get yourself killed).

Occasionally, a well trained police officer can actually stop an active shooter.   I'm not trying to say they are completely worthless.  But, in most situations they just can't get to the scene fast enough or react fast enough.  Especially with all of the race-based lawsuits against departments and the individuals who work as police officers.
