When I saw the solar arrays eating all the farmland in Germany, I about **** myself. Their climate is quite similar to western oregon's. They get SOME sun. Just not very much. It is utterly insane to trade food for trickle-charging. 
 
They also do a **** of a lot of coke, in my experience. I had a tough time staying supplied.
